I have heard it said that Islam's goal of world domination is a long-term strategy. They are not in a hurry to convert all infidels to Islam, they will do whatever is needed to achieve this ultimate goal. Islamists tend to see the big picture while many in the West look for instant, and too often, short term results. A good example of how Islamists sees the long term big picture is to understand the importance of the date of September 11th to the followers of Islam.
Many of us, of course, remember the events of 9/11/2001 as the Islamic jihad came to America in a new and violent way. But looking at the date long term from the Islamic point of view, you start to see how important it was for this attack occur on this specific date.
On 9/11/1565, the Knights of Malta defeated 40,000 Muslims and saved southern Europe from invasion.
On 9/11/1683, Polish King Jan Sobieski and his army of 81,000 troops defeated 138,000 Muslim Ottoman Turks at Vienna and Sobieski was hailed as the "Savior of Western Civilization."
On 9/11/1697 Prince Eugene of Savoy led an army against Muslims at Belgrade and killed 30,000 in one of the Caliphates worst defeats in history.
So what can we learn from this? The followers of Islam see the big picture and are in no hurry. They remember the past and will take their time to try and achieve their goals--in this case their revenge. We in the West need to understand this attitude and adjust our thinking and our actions accordingly. We cannot defeat Islam in any short tactical sense--look at the defeat of ISIS in the middle east and how there has been a new spike in Islamic violence in Africa since this happened. Many of the leaders of ISIS moved on to a new battlefield and are once again fighting the infidels (a lot of Christians in that area) on behalf of Allah and their ideology.
To defeat the ideology of Islam we must first of all learn about it. A thorough study of Islam is vital to understanding why and how that culture has the motivation and drive to spread their beliefs around the world. It is written in their holy book that those who follow Islam are superior to all others and have the right to rule over them. This is only one aspect of their ideology we need to know about. Another belief we must certainly understand is that while you may not believe we are at war with Islam, it is one of the tenets of Islam that all non-Islamic country are at war with Islam. A country or people is either in the "house of Islam" or in the "house of war." We are in the house of war and need to acknowledge this fact and prepare to defeat this ideology in the long term.
